Re: Two wheels good.
My first bike was a Chinese gy125, honda xr125 copy thing. It was painfully slow and no brakes. But I loved it for the 13 days I used it before my test.Jerzy Woking wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 2:34 pm
Anyone else want to confess to owning a really bad bike that they liked riding?

Re: Two wheels good.
Not actually owned but I had it for a LONG time. I had a CB900 FZ that buggered its little ends (seriously) and I was given a Z400 twin as a loaner while they acquired the parts and rebuilt the bloody Honda.
The Z was an utter shed: matt black paint everywhere, ratty and loud 2-1 exhaust of very obscure manufacture and utterly horrible to look at. I had to ride it through the depths of a southwest winter (so wet but bugger all really) and I fell in love with the little sod. I even taught my then-girlfriend to ride it and when the Honda was finally fixed (incidentally, the fastest CB900 I have ever known and I've known/had a few) I tried to buy the Kawasaki and they wouldn't sell me the sod as it was too useful!

Since Henry Cole made a bobber out of a Z400 a few years ago, they became popular. For a while at least.xtriple wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 6:42 pm Not actually owned but I had it for a LONG time. Re: Two wheels good.
I liked my blue CD175, commuted 30 miles a day on it through a winter. Come spring the exhausts had completely disintegrated, and the rear mudguard was held on by the paint.NigelBickle wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 8:02 pm I’ve a cd175. Well one 73 & an early sloper I. Rebuilding. Do they count?

Can't remember what happened to it.
I was rather envious of my brother who had a sloper CD175. It felt like it revved to 15,000 rpm, and was quicker that my K1 CB250.
You can keep your Voskhod fetish to yourself, I won't go there.....

Didn't Suzuki try and sell a sporty GSX500 about 15 years ago?

Re: Two wheels good.
I've a strange urge to own one of the last CZ MX bikes, they are awful but 'special'Jerzy Woking wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 2:34 pm I also owned a 250 CZ Custom. Nearly 40 years after I first became aware they were absolute shite.
But I liked riding it. No power, no brakes, premixing the fuel so that a really thick 2 stroke smog followed me everywhere. Couldn't get mine to do this either, no matter how much I tried:
