I'm assuming that it's a reference to Hooli pissing people off and getting banned from forums.
It's not a massive leap to assume that he's the same in real life at times(?).

Why would a starter motor seemingly work perfectly on the bench, throwing the gear out strongly and holding it there, yet just spin when attached to the engine? No attempt engage the flywheel.

This is probably complete bollocks but all I can think of is it in the same orientation in both cases?

Orientation makes no difference. Was working then all of a sudden doesn't engage. Flywheel looks fine

Is it wired up the right way? Wouldn't spring out if it was going backwards.

Is the motor doweled to the block so it meshes proper?

(I'm still pushing that BMW because flywheel fooked)

Just face it, the starter motor hates you and you need to buy another. By the way, is the engine earthed properly?

No, but it is fitted and bolted up properly
