Likewise my range rover had been run up to temperature a couple of times a year and driven round the paddock, brakes are screwed though still...

Re: What did you do today?
I finally managed to wear out the road-pattern Avon tyres that came fitted to my Disco when I bought it nearly 2 years ago, so I got a set of my preferred General Grabber AT tyres fitted yesterday ready for winter.
Although the usual predicted snowmageddon will no doubt turn out to be no more than a few flakes of snow for a day or so.

Re: What did you do today?
I can't stretch to a Nissan NV200 , so i've been welding up my T4 ..The near side underside has rusted right through in places . It's still new though innit ? I bought it brand new a few years ago.. in 2000 actually . That's 20 years ago !!! They hide their rust well , under the VW p.u. underseal . What a shit job it is that is to get off .
And I'm reading " Spreading my Wings " by Diana Barnato Walker .. Woolf Barnato was her father , Le mans Bentley boy , 3 times winner in the 20's ..Good book , my wife used to groom for her , when she was Master of Old Surrey Foxhounds , and she flew a few planes in the 2nd WW ,and was the first woman to break the sound barrier in a EE Lightning.. Quite a woman

Well you do now . First English woman i shoulda said , 1262 mph , mach 1.65 . Apparently it goes dead quiet in the plane cockpit , as you leave all the sound behind .So a Lightning is a bit like a Beetle , or a Porsche 911

Re: What did you do today?
I've made slight progress with the repair of the Landrover's wiper box. As mentioned a few posts back, the connecting rod bush is knacked, and I soon gave up trying to buy another motor for spares as they make stupid money. I thought it would take no time at all to turn up a new bush, but it might take a bit longer to get the ancient lathe I fetched yesterday working. I paid dearly for it- the borrowed Pug van had its heater fan stuck on full so I endured 4 hours of it hissing away.
I've had 3 lathes over the years, all of them completely shagged out. However, this one still has some life in it which should enable me to keep turning in my grave.- John F

Re: What did you do today?
I've always wanted a lathe, not that I have any idea how to use them. But they look damn handy in the corner of a workshop next to a milling machine I couldn't use either.
