Probably of no interest to anyone one here but I've just read an article about how these can be badly corrupted by just being on the same keyring as another fob.
If it is of any interest let me know and I'll scan the page.

Re: Key Fob corruption - Rover 25/45 MGF
Hiya.. I keep my fobs in different places, the MGF one is the only one that fucks me about.. sometimes the doors open first press, most of the time though I'm stood there like a demented 80's freak trying to get in my own car.. Not to mention the immobiliser beeping at me.. Disconnecting the battery works but not for long and replacing the battery in the fob works.. but the MGF is the oldest technology I have, old Berlingo works fine..

I used to sell loads of these. All my keys were kept in one box. Never once had a problem

I've decided to scan it and post it anyway as otherwise it'd be lost amongst all my other books and magazines.

Maybe it's one of those problems that occur in less than 1% of cases but gets a lot of publicity because of its impact ?

Re: Key Fob corruption - Rover 25/45 MGF
Ah yes I remember there was one Rover 200 I bought for £50 as a non runner. I got a code from somewhere and entered it by turning the key in the drivers door lock. For example, if the code was 531 then you turn the key left five times, right three times then left once. This unlocked the immobiliser and the car started although the remote was then useless.
