Me too. It is presumably mis-guided mimicry of the offsetting of those small front plates Italy used to use. Just looks fucking stupid with our great big plaques. Looks even more stupid on a Mito or summat, too.

It never really worked with our bigger plates but they were always mounted on the other side. I think the reason they look shit was they were never intended to be imported here and have these bloody great plates.
