this is the void that should be the lower b-post section and protect occupants. Here it is largely made up of fresh air

The d-post (goalpost) and lower cross member were barely attached but in good order

This is the afore mentioned rear seat belt mounting. as you might see below it the inner arch is double skinned (usually foreskin... single skinned). the seatbelt mount was held between the two skins with filler. un fuckin believable. nobody in the history of ever would have taken a step back from this and thought "yeah, I done good"

the outer repair to the b-pillar was pulled away from the p-post and sill by hand. ffs . really?

And then the clammy cold feeling works its way up your neck! "what if the same person "welded" the inner and outer sill sections together?" .... yep

Somewhat paradoxically it took me less time to loosely fix replacement panels than it took me to remove the shite bodges

B-pillar was rebuilt using 18 gauge steel repair sections. and all of a sudden the LH passenger door shuts nice every time

Don't ban the use of filler, just execute those who use it inappropriately

One more to come

Don't know what is more concerning - that somebody took money for that repair or that the person buying it risked their neck without knowing.

it might look the same as the before photo but weighs 2 kg less. Also by this point I had removed the rear goalpost (top / bottom tailgate frame)

I spliced the uprights to a top cross member I bought from a break in the Netherlands - used to be Holland - and from a 1988 donor. even the spot welds were mm perfect

Knowing the gent who bought the car and whom I am working for, I feel for him. He knew nothing and took folk for their word.
