Having owned both previously, the Cavalier a 1.6, I preferred the Maestro.
That one is fairly close to me, but no room at the inn at the moment.

This does look rather nice, asking £5995-00p.

Very fine cars, I was very sad when my W-reg 1.8 Sport failed its MOT in November 2021, I'd had it for 10.5 years having bought it for 550 quid. Never let me down, great chassis and a good turn of speed. Sold it for £220 last year to someone who was 'going to fix it' which he didn't. Before that one I had a K-plate P10 1.6 on 13" steels, again owned it for 10 years and it never failed to proceed. They were great cars and very well built.

Obscure, interesting and probably a pain in the arse when it goes wrong, trying to work out where the bits come from.

Not quite right. He's my mates son. I have met him once some years back near Newquay.

For some reason it won't show me the first pic. - there are more pics from a previous auction

Headlights are BMW
Engine US Ford, presumably gearbox too.
The switchgear and HVAC controls on the console look like contemporary Mercedes. Column switches (stalks) are contemporary Ford as are the electric window switches and dashboard vents.
2005 Land Rover Discovery SE Manual
2003 Mercedes E320 Estate
1968 AMC Rebel SST Convertible
1967 AMC Rebel SST Convertible (for parts)
1994 Fleetwood Colchester 1850 EB

Hoping for roffle win :)
