I’ve always owned some sort of old car or van (mostly VW, but I’m not a fan of the ‘scene’, just enjoy the old stuff, especially the air cooled).

I’ve done this as I’ve never been able to afford two proper vehicles, and I need at least one that’s relatively cheap and that I can work on myself.

No one I know apart from my dad does their own work on cars anymore, so I enjoy reading random peoples struggles on their own shit cars - makes me feel a bit better about some of my life choices!!

I have been lurking and occasional poster on the other beige forum, but most of the harder core home mechanics seem to have migrated here, so thought I’d join here to get my fix!

Whats with all the dubbers turning up. They obviously heard how much we all love air cooled VW's, well on a cold day they can give off a bit of heat whilst they self combust. Soon those of us with sensible cars will be out numbered by Herc and his air cooled cronies.
