No doubt Eddie will be along shortly to correct me on this, but I'm sure there used to be a Class 3 HGV licence allowing you to drive a twin axle D Series?
I'll look at what a Class 3 covers as I have father Honda's licence knocking around at home. He passed his HGV1 test in the 1970s
I'm struggling to see why there was a two axle rigid test. Why not just take a Class 2 test? Maybe the Class 3 test didn't insist on the vehicle having at least eight gears?

Underneath that final one are tickets for renewals going back to 10th July 1975 - I assume that's just after he passed. He might of done a renewal or two after that on the unified paper licence, but then never bothered.
One of those Safaris was actually bought by a member of the target demographic....A gamekeeper on one of the nearby sporting Estates (they are all garden centres and timber plantations now) traded in a Hawk for one. It didn't linger long and was replaced by a P5 Coupe.....
