BMW E36 touring.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

BMW E36 touring.

Post by bub2006 »

I can't work out how to post pictures so bear with me.
I kind of won this on auto shite. It's a 1999 S plate so relatively late for an E36 and one of the last S reg cars made I think. Is an SE trim so has such frivolity such ad4x leccy windows, duel zone climate,cd changer in the boot, alloys and factory remote locking and alarm etc. Oddly no cruise or leather to say it's otherwise pretty well equipped. It's got the 3 spoke sport steering wheel and suspension is quite stiff so maybe the sport package was fitted if such a thing existed at the time? 1.8 8valve m43 lump in it with nearly 185k on clock with full. Quite high revving at motorway speeds but yet again I've no basis for comparison.
Owned it for nearly 6 weeks now and it's just doing a sterling job of being a decent car. Averaging low 30s local and around 40-42 on a run. Has some rust around tailgate, front wings and a scuff on rear arches but other than that it's sound. Currently loaded up with scrap metal and gardening equipment, also went to cleckheaton the other day and it came back loaded up with a recumbent trike and numerous other frames, spare parts etc. If admin hooli can add photos on my behalf I'd appreciate it as he has some pics of it and it loaded up from the other day!

I'm feeling with you m8.
It's the kind of car you dream of by night and still own when you wake up.
Get riddage may prove though, but is achievable via Gumtree. Yes, I'm afraid you have to put yourself through this in order to end the ordeal.

Look at the bright side. Once it's gone, life will be alright again.

I'm used to shonky Citroen Picasso's and other tossy bangers. This is a lot better car than I've owned before. 5 an half weeks ownership too which I'm very impressed with! By my standards it must be decent

I wondered where that had gone…… it looks pretty smart to be fair...…. I take it once the lugging duties are done with you'll be offloading.
Any idea on a replacement?
