At least lumber comes in imperial sizes , even if it's measured back to front , two by four .. two by six ..

Found a box of clamps and secured the front hoses.

That's bloody annoying......Shades of Zephyr Six there. Two or three different dynamo castings, at least three bracket lengths and various shim options. Whatever worked on one engine didn't on another and even if it looked in-line it wasn't and shagged water pump/dynamo bearings.....

You're going to need to order some more patience too, I should think.
There's a great long bar in Rock & Roll heaven.......
