Re: What did you do today?
Bought myself a new modern to hopefully replace both 4007 and the C1. As diesel is now the fuel of the devil they have to go. God knows what it will be like as it was cheap due to engine damage. How bad can a 3 cylinder 900cc turbo petrol be ? I need a taller type car to cart my dad about as he strugles with normal cars so fingers crossed it will do that job as well as being a cheap to run ULEZ compliant motor. Behold the greatness that is a Renault Captur tce.
Fucking used cars are expensive now as this thing is 10 years old and still cost me 1200 quid delivered with at least a fucked engine.1939 Hotchkiss 864

Re: What did you do today?
Post 2015 diesels are okay and some pre is okay for ULEZ/caz. Quite a lot of the French diesel stuff is good pre 2015 as Euro 6 as they had clean air zone type things for a while.
0.9tce will be a bit lacking power but probably be quite economical I'd imagine? Probably similar performance to the 1.4 N/A they used in every thing for years but the turbo maybe makes more go?

Re: What did you do today?
Thing with diesels now is it costs 20p a litre more to buy the bloody stuff and the fuel economy is better but not enough to cover the cost with the way I drive. If I didn't have to run my dad about the entire fleet would be classics as modern cars are all much of a muchness. I only bought the Renault on price and spec, not being silver / grey helps as well. It does seem a lot of hassle to avoid paying the robbing bastards 9 quid on the rare occasion I go into Bristol.

Re: What did you do today?
Probably a lot simpler to fix than modern diesels too?
Direct injection but none of the DPF and adblue stuff.
I imagine a 0.9l in an engine bay that is designed to take fair bit bigger engines give a fair bit of room to work around too?

Re: What did you do today?
My little 107 is alright. You do have to strangle it to make progress. I reckon with a turbo Panhard's renault it'll be 100bhp or whatever and be perfectly fine.
Re: What did you do today?
They aren't at all, they are a decent engine, mum has one in her logan and the daughter had one in her new clio, torquey, quiet, refined and economical, you could do a lot worse.Eddie Honda wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 6:15 pmFucking terrible? Make that "le fucking épouvantable" being a Renna.
