Interestingly* the colour has changed from multicoloured back to the previous Red/ Blue on the latest logbook to come through for one of my bikes

Brilliant, AD! Regardless of what happens at DVLA I think he will always be known as LOB.....
Strikingly reminiscent of other Austins with the grille shell gone too - shades of Atlantic, Frogeye and Hereford in those looks....

Thank you all for the kind comments, they mean a lot. I was flat out on it all last week, so it’s good to know others appreciate my efforts!
Mercrocker - no grey area, the ID stays with the chassis and it’s the original chassis. All the running gear is original too. Well, apart from the Goldseal engine. But that’s been fitted since 1962.

Tried to get some parts today.
Reverse gear cable and bulkhead grommet which fits around the steering and gear columns - both NLA.
Pedal boots - the only source in the world is now Old Era Services in NSW.
I think I can repair the cable.
None of these parts are common to the Healey unfortunately, hence not being available, as the Healey has a pedal box and floor gear change, and the A70 has neither.
I did manage to buy a few bits for the steering box from AH Spares though. To all intents and purposes it’s exactly the same setup, possibly a shorter column but the bits all look identical.

Fortunately, it was on the road up until 1987 so was still on the computer. It came with an old style V5 in the deceased previous owner’s name. The golden rule of DVLA is tell DVLA nothing. Do not volunteer any information. None.
