What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Vacuumed and washed the car. Oddly the red paint fell off one wheel trim so that's on the to-do list now.

Dropped the 320d into bmw today for the egr recall (I think). Book time is 4 hrs. There has also been a number of weird dash alerts for systems failing including sos system not working. I was thinking 4 years old modern with battery issues especially in the recent cold weather. No, egr replacement done, sos thing related to a failed accumulator and rear discs/pads fucked.

I assume the accumulator is part of the “I’ve had a bump, call everything shite” that needs a mountain of vacuum hoses to work. But rear discs and pads at 50k? The fronts have never been done……

They gave me a 22 plate 120d Msport as a loaner. What a fugly hateful piece of shite

TT in for an MOT tomorrow. Place your bets on a 20 year old VAG product on what needs doing.

Are the rear brakes used for traction control? That'd explain extra wear at that end

Probably a straight pass if it's anything like any vag shite I've owned.

Not too bad result for the TT. Knackered tyres are a good thing as excuse to chuck away the ditch finders and put something decent on. Glad the brake pedal sensor behaved itself and didn't chuck up the traction control light.

Got a set of brand new springs they are fitting too. Should sort out the lopsidedness and hopefully steering straight.

We can deduce Sic likes hammering into left and right hand bends , and doesn't lift at all .. :P
Or the geometry is out ..

Don't be daft, he bought it like that. SiC has cars for something to fiddle with on the drive, not to drive.

The geometry was out on mine so much it scrubbed two new front tyres in less than 250 miles. Bastard thing.

Does a mk1 TT understeer or oversteer on the limit?
I'm scared to push mine too much in case it bites. At least with front or rear wheel drive it's easy to control.
I've only had one 4x4 before this and that was an M reg ford maverick (terrano) so not exactly alike.
