Re: The Astraslag TDW Slut Car Thread
No it's a thermal fuse built into the clutch coil on the compressor
This bit and the fuse when I changed mine (2014 FFS where does the time go). It's suspected the rust build up causes the clutch to slip. That overheats it and pops the thermal fuse. Some solder a link instead to bypass it. I wouldn't recommend you do the same

I'm ok with soldering but it's not a job I feel comfortable with and with everything I don't feel comfortable with I don't touch it.

Tunes situation sorted with a thanks to mario for the Bluetooth FM transmitter. Works a charm. Got some back to black today for the door strips and lower skirts. Also If anyone has a set of 15inch vauxhall wheel trims they wish to sell please shout up.

Has it used much oil since you took charge of it?

To be honest no. I've done over 1000 miles since it's mot. Had an oil change, filter and plugs a week after it's ticket and I've not had to top it up since. I do check it every few days. Same as wheel nuts ,check them every few days and still tight.

I have no idea. Cooling fan works, never goes over 90 on gauge either. Odd.

Re: The Astraslag TDW Slut Car Thread
As I've said before on here, contrary to popular belief I don't drive cars hard and I maintain them meticulously regardless of age and condition. Its just something I do in the vain hope the car will repay me with loyalty. Admittedly it hasn't always gone that way but 15 months with focus should be a good start.
