What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Just found out Moss in Manchester has closed down permanently. Bit of a shame.

Charles Ware Car Parts went broke the other week. That one is a bit more complex story.
Parts and restoration split. Restoration went broke. Restoration then phoenixed as a new company. Now looks like the parts has gone pop.

Talking of trying to keep old British stuff going, avoid KOR / FHRC bearings like the plague. Chinese junk.

I was amazed to find that Danchuk in the USA has closed its online and retail outlets - they were always the go-to for 50s Chevy stuff - they had zillions of lines. They are still manufacturing apparently but parts only available via dealers.

Darn cold here.
Got fed up of clearing the snow on the drive.
Must have been 2’ in the past week.

Last night I saw that we were due some more snow over night and I remember thinking to myself as I was nodding off - why can’t we just have rain!!!

Woke up this morning to snow covered freezing rain. Slippery as heck!

Tonight I’m going to go to sleep, hoping I won the Powerball lottery. Not much chance though, as I didn’t buy a ticket!

As it stopped raining for a time I thought I'd start the 206 and the Matiz for the first time since the end of November. Stuck the Lidl jump pack (cannot believe how good that unit is), on the 206 (,knew it wouldn't start without a helping hand) and off it went. The Matiz usually starts OK but it was totally flat, something does this occasionally. Opened the bonnet, well after some fucking about as the safety release was stuck. Jump pack and away it went.

Gave the bonnet mechanism a good lubrication and then off to the Ibiza as the heater fan has been either fully on or off since the beginning of December.
Stuck the endoscope behind the dash but couldn't see which of the two types of resister listed it was. Glove box out and there, almost unreachable is the resistance pack. It's the cheaper one so dash back in and order one.

You are all probably too cultured for this (ha ha ha), but back in the day, I might have watched the odd episode of ‘Tool time’. A ‘comedy’ with Tim Allen.

Well today, the weirdest thing happened. I’ve ordered some new steel wheels for the Ghia and as I reached into the box and pulled one out of the protective sleeve, I found myself giving a little ‘growl’. Completely unconsciously. And then I thought to myself - what the hell was I doing???

Then I remembered ‘Tool time’ and the little growl he used to give on that… Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
