I had one that shape and loved it, was pretty quick and went around corners much better than it had any right to made it a sort of Q car as lads in GTIs didn't expect it to go like it did. In fact I wanted one after being behind a Police V70 T5 on the M25 as it slowed the trafic to 50mph for a few miles, then it just fucked off and I couldn't keep up. I was in my Golf GTI...

Not shown - inner door release handle fixed. Door panel clips replaced as it was held only by the pull hane.
Engine Fumes in cabin- hmmm. Something missing here.
Crankcase to valve cover breather missing (rotted through).
Not ideal but to stop me gassing myself/prove a point.
The breather runs past the inlet manifold- replacement means removal

Replaced battery (slow cranking).
Intermittent EML is now considerably less so - O2 sensor signal inaudible or similar. We'll see on that one.
ABS lamp is steering angle sensor signal. I suspect worn out based on mileage. Will see if I can recalibrate initially, based on literally everything being removed and refitted poorly on the interior.
