Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Brief update, this one’s not for me. Far too many ‘ small’ issues that would mean considerable time needed to make it ( what I consider) safe& reliable.

I did make a decent- ish offer, but he wasn’t budging on price. Guess he will, when it’s out of ticket.

So thanks all, anyway. If you happen to know of a cheapie, that I’d t worn smooth, keep me in mind. Ta

At least you know now rather than being forever thinking it was one which got away.

Well, everything changed again today when the vendor dropped his price by several hundred pounds and suddenly became reasonable. He also agreed to sort several of the issues I’d raised, improve the battery from that of a moped, mend the hoist etc - so I’m happy. Payment by BAC’s, collection in the New Year.

Which is inconvenient, because I bought this yesterday:-

A Honda CD175 a ( sloper) simply because it was my first ‘ proper’ bike, and it looks an easy resto

Except that whilst collecting today, this caught my eye, so I bought this:-

An early CB175 which looks to be a piss easy recommission for early Spring. Bought, cos, well, I always wanted one!

Only there wasn’t enough space in the van cos I’d only half emptied in, and had picked this up on the way through

£80, kickstart & starter don’t work so I’m guessing the pawl has gone, but it’s Motd till May , the battery’s charged & my daughter in law has always wanted one. Hey ho. Expensive month..
