The 'modern cars are shit' thread.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Pause
“Bong bong bong bong bong bong”

I’m manoeuvring the hateful lump a few yards on private land so I can get a proper car out which is blocked in behind it.
I will not put the seatbelt on. Fuck you, modern car manufacturers and their silly nannying ways, treating their customers like fucking imbeciles.
Chris goffey lives! It's 1991 all over again.

I'm meeting my mate on Thursday night, the man who claimed to have found and publicised the original TT's handling problem by nearly killing himself in one.
I'd be very interested in what he has to say.

I quite like the warning lights as I am simple-minded, old and stupid. I got a bit of a shock yesterday as the seatbelt warning was on (Jag) and I thought/feared the dreaded Jaguar electrics problem was rearing its ugly little head.

However, it was actually dementia rearing its uglier head as I had forgotten to put the sodding belt on! I always do things in sequence (belt is first... usually) but I'd reversed out of the spot without doing the belt up so I was glad the light was nothing serious and also as a reminder to the clinically stupid!

The 'bing bong, passenger seatbelt not done up' used to annoy me in the Saab when I took the dogs out as Ace always sat in the front. He was a fidget too so everytime he moved the bing bong started again.

I have seatbelts for the dogs permanently plugged into the cars seat belt doofers so regardless of how much Bella wriggles around the car remains quiet and serene... apart from the squealing tyres and the sound of an engine being ragged beyond its redline.

Yeah, right!

On a fb plumbing forum.
Nice to see they've pulled their finger out as far as reliability is concerned.

It doesn't matter where they're built, the design is shite.

Yep, still got that stupid side-opening back door with a wheel on it. F.F.S. why?
Is it really so hard to remember to design for a spare?
Not to mention the price.- Madness.

Doesn't stop it being a runaway success of a product for JLR. They must be doing something right in a lot of wrong they are doing.

They simply twigged that few people latterly bought the proper ones for their intended purpose and did the obvious thing with a pastiche aimed at those buyers. Precisely why the door still opens awkwardly and has a vulnerable spare screwed to it.
