The 'modern cars are shit' thread.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

worry the engine will overcome the handbrake.
Jaguar, eh?

Ben
Every auto I've known tbh Ben. Although the W124 I had did it least
Only had three automatics. Subaru Impreza, BMW E30 and Ford SMax. The handbrake held/holds them all in drive.

Trouble is that shit drivers never use the handbrake in autos so they very quickly stop working.

Available in several colours, all beige.
Werther compartment in centre console.
Reflective rubber door edge guards.
Additional reversing lamp.
Bluetooth connectivity to Doctor Surgery answerphone
Additional preset buttons for Radio 4.
National Trust and Blue Badge holders.
Mirror and indicator delete.
Additional reversing lights sound a good feature, perhaps they could repurpose some of those retina burning HIDs so you can see what you are reversing into.

Waterproof seat cover is missing from the list though (especially for 80s and 90s Ford's with that grey cloth trim)

Discovered by accident it's illegal in the UK to have more than 2 reversing lights fitted to a vehicle, and they aren't both allowed to be on the same side of the vehicle.

The Grand Am had 4, two as additional front foglight style, for enhanced asshattery.

I dont have a daily any more we just share, apart from the van we have a three year old Polo I like it as its just about the right level of modern and still a bit analogue.

The Polo that replaced it though we had one when ours was in for service and I dont like it now they have gone way too far with technology.

I would always rather have an older car as others have said the older technology meant you had to know your cars limits and drive within its limitations.

They say driving is a skill,I say it was a skill now the new generation of drivers coming through drive as if the technology will save them from everything

The owners manual for my Cortina tells you how to lubricate service and repair the car,the one for the Polo just informs you that YOU MUST take the car to a VW dealer for just about everything.

Not just cars but modern life is shit id do anything to be the age I am now in the past maybe then I wouldn't be here now stuck in all the bollox we are facing as we head into this forced dystopian future
[For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Yeah, but dentistry is way, way better than it was 40 years ago AND it’s much easier to get a good bread and good beer. ( In England)

But cars are definitely over for now.
