Re: What did you do today?
Took delivery of my £2 + £87 delivery Jawa babetta. Actually worth at least half of that. The insurance is £41 though so that’s not bad.

I mentioned the knackered paint on the roof of my Rover 600, which desperately needs attending to. He proudly showed me pictures of cars he’d painted on his phone, various ones both modern and classic, and he swung by on his way home to have a look at mine.
Yes he can do it, £150 cash which seems like a total bargain so I’ve given the go ahead and it should be done next week once the car he’s currently doing is out of his workshop.
Another colleague has a daughter with a modern Vauxhall that had been in a front end crash, Wayne resprayed the entire front end for £250. Looked brilliant (he showed me the pictures) and he was very pleased with the job, so it should be in safe hands.
There are various scratches and dings around the car, it is a 25 year old Rover after all, but the roof is what draws the eye, as it’s down to the undercoat and just looks really shit. I will probably bring the car back to him for more work to be done, but it is a classic case of where do you stop? The rest of it looks great at 20ft so it’s not as urgent.
I’m virtually having to bribe the guy to come out and have a look at my 912, even though he says he will do it and it will be around $15k.
Well done to you sir!!!

I wonder if everyone's cottoned on to the fact that they're total dogshit.
I got £11250 for mine in April ish.

I've never seen one of them in the flesh even though I've had a few Jawas / CZ bikes so was aware of the brand. IBangernomics wrote: ↑Thu Oct 20, 2022 10:24 pm Took delivery of my £2 + £87 delivery Jawa babetta. Actually worth at least half of that. The insurance is £41 though so that’s not bad.

bought a Jawa Californian in Germany which was nicer looking than the stuff sold here, but it still had that horrible combined gearchange/kickstart lever. I used a 175 as daily transport when I drive a JCB; when I travelled to a new job I put it in the front bucket, something I wouldn't be happy to inflict on most bikes. Though we're talking the original lumbering 3c here the outward journey was still marginally smoother.

I've somehow bought a 2004 ford fiesta for cheap. Going to use it over winter as everything else is broken

Re: What did you do today?
I did the same four or five years ago, except a 1999 model which I suppose is/was the same age relatively speaking.
Brilliant decision, it did three winters of salt instead of something I care about, got me and Mrs Rocker to several long-distance gigs and carried more crap about than I cared to filthy my campervan up with.
On top of all that it was a good crack to drive. RIP little Fezza.

Re: What did you do today?
Mot day for the T4.. Bought it new in 2000. It did get to 200,000 miles this year Goes better now than it ever has albeit noisily . I had to have a tyre on the front . Dunno why, but the N.S front and off side rear tyres have both worn the outside edges leaving the rest of their tread hardly worn . I only buy it cheapo tyres these days that maybe the reason
