How VW's get pineappled..

My primary school headteacher had a blue 928. Would have been nearly new then. Her name was Mrs Devitt and the number plate simply said 'Devitt'

Not that any of that matters to anyone, just thought I would mention it ☺

It's the only Porsche I want, probably to do with it all being right. Big V8, RWD. I could live anything with that configuration I reckon.

Hehe! In the pack I had it was a bronze 911, the worst card was an NSU TT, would give me left bollock for a TT now....

Not sure why there is such an aversion towards 911s. I love them and once owned a heavily pineappled one.

Here here!
I guess it is that Brit. "resentment of success" thing, muddled with a certain distaste toward the contemporary Porsche: massively capable and yet massively unatractive like so many moderns, and yet pretending to be the same thing as the original 911.
I would absolutely love an air-cooled, lhd, two-pedal 911. Nothing else ticks as many of my boxes.

If Porsche had gone bust in 1979 they would be loved, that and they have unfortunate connotations of yuppiedom, at least in the UK. I'm not a fan of the XJS or 535csi, capable though they may be they are irrevocably linked with filofaxes and red braces to me.

I just don't like the looks of a 911 or the noise. Much like I don't like Ducatis due to the clutch rattle.

I won't argue for a second that they look and sound rather comical, but you have to build a bloody good Corvette to beat them on the track.
