What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Looks like I'll be taking the civic on holiday next week.

Mr Cylinder obviously knew when to out that one then.

It's all standard E36 stuff. Two new complete wishbones with the lollipops fitted, two complete steering track rods, a pair of front calipers and pads (just replace both) with flexy hoses, remove and refit the exhaust, repair the trailing arm pocket (often a cunt of a job), tracking and resubmit.

Welding apart, that's a steady weekend or a flat out Saturday.

Parts, about £250-300 all in.

Suspension and steering:

Two calipers: E36 and E46 interchange but make sure you get ones to fit vented discs.

It's clearly a rusty old thing underneath - time to give it the push once MOT'd.

No other history of rust in the MOT history though. So possibly either Scotland has killed another car or a tester too used to newer cars.

The don't get half as bad in many other areas of Scotland.

You're all fucking rays of sunshine, aren't you?

Can't say I am right now either.

As SiC says, it's got no history of rot in its MOT history. Very odd. I've owned other E36s in Scotland for longer than this and they've had constant advisories but still passed a number of MOTs.

Nobody and I mean nobody, can say 'shite' like a Scotsman. It's absolute poetry.

Fuck it - get it done and keep it. They're such a nice drive and all cars rust somehow. It could be worse - you could own an E46.
