I wonder how many actually failed compared to the number that people were told her failed so they replaced a load of parts.

Re: Epic Collection. I broke it. (sort of)
Got stuck in the drive_Thru lane earlier today. After 15 minutes of sitting idling on a hot day I start to notice a little steam rising from the front, FUCK! I shut the engine off and turn the ignition back on with the heater on full blast, and you can imagine how pleasant that felt! I must have caught it just in time as no harm has been done.
In other Disastra news, those fucking cunts in Swansea are refusing to let me tax it despite my best efforts to GIVE THEM MONEY! Is there really nothing that those twats can't fuck up?
I rocked up to my local backstreet aircon regas emporium earlier to take advantage of their refill from £30 offer. He opens the bonnet and tells me that he'll have a go and if my system leaks then he won't charge me as he'll just suck the new gas out anyway. He looks at the sticker under my bonnet and says that it'll cost me £70 as the Astra has a 700g aircon tank and it is £10 per 100g. I decide to leave it until payday.

If a regas doesn't fix it, it's often the clutch thermal fuse pops. Thought to be the clutch faces rusting up and slipping that causes it to over heat then pop. You can replace it with another by taking the clutch apart and clean the surfaces up.
Some put a jumper wire across instead of a thermal fuse. Probably not a good idea to so that.
Pictures of the clutch on the one I had 7yrs ago.

In fact it would be worth using a multimeter to check the continuity over the clutch before taking into a regas again. If open circuit then you're going to need to fix it for it to work.

It does blow slightly cold iirc. Just not freezing. Hopefully 'just needs a regas M9'.

1350 miles completed so far.
It does look like it'll need new front pads this week and it does have a CV joint and suspension bush rattle so I'll try to get this sorted.
V5 arrived this morning so I managed to tax it before leaving for work. Not a cheap car to tax at about £28 a month but that's petrol for you, even the hybrid Ioniq was nearly a couple of hundred a year. I'm just happy that I won't wake up tomorrow to discover that it's been clamped through no fault of my own.
Work MPG is marginally better than the Fiesta although that's probably down to the slight drop in fuel price and they're both getting the same to the gallon. The Astra does beat the Ford hands down on distance MPG though.
I'm doing my best in work to park close to my delivery addresses though so I can leave the motor running to ease wear on the starter and ring gear. Hitting the starter 30 times a day will do it no good!
All in all, a thankfully very dull running report!

I must do 30 plus starts a day in my vans. I've never had a starter fail.
I wouldn't let it worry you.

The non forum Jeep, has one of those stop start things and must stop/start a dozen times or more each way to work.
