I was reunited with a Farina I last saw over 20 years ago. A family friend bought this 1971 Oxford in 1983 after it was involved in a minor shunt and stashed it in an outbuilding- I remembering seeing it in the summer of 2001 pretty much in the same state as the first two photos. He finally decided to sell it last month, I wasn't able to take it on so a friend has bought it for probably about half the value of a project Farina nowadays and collected it last week. The history has been lost but going by its excellent interior we reckon the 38 odd thousand miles is genuine. The engine still turned and was running again after a little fettling...

It's El Paso Beige, I know of only a couple of others left in that colour but neither are K reg. Not sure if the plastic number plates are the originals but they are labelled Mitchell & Walsh of Cheshunt which ties in with the car's RO Hertfordshire registration.

There was an El Paso one local to us - I think it was a later colour crossing over with the Landcrabs but colour choice was very restricted by the time the Oxfords finished - most J/K reg I've seen were Damask Red or white.

I would imagine those plates are indeed the originals - another nice touch. No over-riders either, that really is a corker.....

Only ever seen one in El Paso beige, and that was in a scrapyard in Essex about 25 years ago. Even then it wasn't too bad but there wasn't very much I could do about it at the time. On the subject of old Farinas sitting about in sheds though,23 years ago today I was driving this home. Really must make more of an effort with the poor thing,it hasn't turned a wheel in almost a year and I hate to say but I've recently been considering parting with it.

That's a shame, hopefully you can get round to sorting it. Hardly see the A99 Westminsters now, even at BMC Events.

Great photos from Moffat also, a few friends of mine journey up from England every year for it. I avoid car shows nowadays but that's one I wouldn't mind attending.

I've never taken it to a show and seen another, although it didn't attend any of the Peterborough BMC days I went to.
Moffat was great,I don't really do shows any more but I'd recommend it for next year. No JDM wank or stupid modified fwd scrap.

Could smell petrol from rear of Sierra over the last couple of days. Had a look today and fuel filter leaking. Think it must be the original-had the car 22 years and haven't changed it. Luckily had a new one with washers I bought "a few" years ago to change. Petrol didn't look to clever out of the old one.

Against all odds, I found the circlip that shot off the starter last night in the grass bordering my neighbor's yard, 15 feet away from where it launched.

Space exploration companies should take note, future launches will be giant C clips and will be launched into orbit by twisting under them with a giant flat-blade screwdriver.
