Re: What did you do today?
I bought a new fiat ducato. It was coming up to three years old and had a side door that needed aligning or something and wanted it done before the warranty expired. I rang the dealer at the Silverlink (the name escapes me now but it has since changed hands no surprise) and some snotty young girl answered.
I told her the problem and she replied it'll be £100 plus vat for us to look at it. Why do I have to pay?!
We need to put it on the computer.
It doesn't need to go on the computer it's a door.
Standard procedure sorry.
I started to argue my case and the bitch simply hung up.
Wankers.

Re: What did you do today?
I think I've mentioned on here before when Mercedes refused to let my wife have her 2 or 3 year old low mileage A140 back as it was dangerous. We lived in the sticks and she needed it to get the kids to and from school. I was working in Barcelona at the time and ended up ringing them from the clients car park and escalating the problem up the management chain until it was sorted. I doubt that I could do that now as someone would too offended and put the phone down on me and any complaint about it would be dismissed.

Re: What did you do today?
I'm quoting this as it's a lot shorter than the original post.
I'd say that I'm going to contact the press, initially the local press, and also let Fiat UK know. It's a far better story, sorry I couldn't think of a better word, than I regularly see in the media. I imagine a lot of people threaten this, I would do it to show that I was serious. Obviously easy for me to say though.

An auction that SiC might be interested in as they have quite a few new old stock mini panels amongst a load of other mini bits. There also seems to be a load of yank stuff including shitey mustang bits if Jo still gets on here.

Fitted new tyres to the old bike. Michelin World Tour, which are excellent tyres.

Hung the old My Classic Tyres (a Michelin Roadster and Dunlop Champion) back up in my reliquary. Went out for a ride, goes and looks much better.

Weird isn't it how you can get the difference so much on 2 wheels but I never noticed (other than noise levels) on 4
