Same round here....Rolfe's Garage - a mecca for schoolboy Continental car enthusiasts - now metal-clad Charley Farley dealership and one up the road from me, the old Testwood Motors which has been a VW outlet since the mid-sixties and was once the hub of Messerschmitt business for the South. That's now been corporate-slabbed in dull grey and given a stupid name.

Something about old dealerships compared with new ones
New ones are like a visit to a hospital, clinical uninviting just pants
Old ones they just had something about them!
My happiest childhood memories were centred around brochure collecting now theres not even that they tell you to download a bloody App

Re: Warren's Merseyside Old Photo Thread
That's how I remember the Wirral- generally cold, wet, miserable looking because we always went to Wallasey for Christmas so there was sometimes a little bit of grimy snow hanging around on the hills as we passed Helsby on the M56 on the way to Warrington to visit other family members.
Then to cold walks down on the New Brighton prom.
The one thing that struck me as a child being dragged around was the proliferation of concrete having slabs that had a funny raised dimpled texture in a honeycomb pattern, coupled with how level they were set compared to the smaller slabs back home.
Things have changed but a lot has stayed the same.
Looking back now, I remember a building in Liscard on the high street that had lots of really quite dark but multicolored glass set into the wall. I think that's long gone now.
...or maybe it was New Brighton, even Birkenhead but I'm pretty sure it was in the corner of St Albans st in Liscard, opposite the Natwest
It was on a bit of a downhill coming to a road junction on the left. Concrete uprights with glass between them.
