What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

It actually goes okay, by my standards, when it's not smoking, meaning it'll hold a steady 60 or so on the A roads around here when it's not slowed down by caravans or tractors.

Acceleration, especially uphill, is a different matter as the base vehicle is not exactly light and mine has a somewhat over engineered* homemade camping interior.

I prefer the term "perspiring gentleman".

I cannot hack the heat, any more than 20C I find fairly unbearable. Historically this has been 3 days a year in Scotland, although lately we seem to be having more blistering summers. Possibly not aided by my moving south when a "hot day" on the NE coast is 15C.

If you can wrench one of these off a scooter twat (they were never meant for them....) you will find them to be an admirable solution. I have one in the van, mind you that's because the upholstery is turning into lint.

Heh. It hasn't dropped below 20C here since, uh, about February.
Last night's low was 23. It's set to be 32 here today, then rain which will make it feel unpleasant. The rain does little to cool the day off.

You need one of those beaded seat covers.

Another 250 miles in the pug today. Down to Matthewson's in Thornton le Dale. What a lovely little village and well worth a visit if you're near. Derek and son took the time out to speak to us and were very hospitable. He's exactly like he is on the telly and not pretentious or fuck all.
We then went on to York designer outlet but dogs weren't allaowed and we had Morty. We saw the firebrigade bending the doors on an audi yesterday to get a dog out so we weren't leaving him in the car. I did have a brief look and they had a dr martin shop where everything was roughly half price. We're going to go back down without the pooch.
