High street retail average for a 1ct solitaire, 9ct gold ring is about £3500 I think, judging by a quick look through some jeweller's websites. What's a mint Marina worth? Keeping it that way would, of course, have been a lot more difficult than chucking a ring box in a drawer for half a century....
