I would argue them not including the cable and socket amounts to it having no aux input. I'm going to find a breaker for some bits and bobs, is the facelift radio a worthwhile upgrade if they have one with the code?Eddie Honda wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2019 11:18 pmWell it does like all Jazzes, it's just not on the front of the set in a convenient 3.5mm jack socket. The facelift GD Jazzes have much nicer radios and MY06 on have the 3.5mm jack socket next to the fag lighter as standard. It's an arse to rob the loom for it, but if you just grab the plugs either end it's less time spent in the scrappy.Conrad D. I got the impression these ones:
need a security code, but otherwise will slot right in to my car so long as I get the one with the correct heater controls.

That's what they look like, are they a straight swap?
Don't recall them needing a security code though.

I double DIN fascia is about 40 quid IIRC. I might get one. The kids were in stitches when I was shouting at Waze on hols and the cheapy "love you long time" BT ciggy transmitter I got drives the Mrs H nuts with the accent.

Re: What did you do today?
I watched a YouTube removal tutorial and he had to enter a code. A post on ClubJazz suggests that they are interchangeable with the older units, which is good because they are very readily available unlike the older units, all of which seem to have a dead radio (mine included).
It goes without saying that I am also tempted by an all singing all dancing double DIN Android thing from AliExpress.

Re: What did you do today?
I've taken the battery out numerous times and never entered a code.
Even if you need one, they can be found free online.

Re: What did you do today?
I think on some modern units you only need the code if you put it in a different car.
Re: What did you do today?
That was the case with my 850, I got a later factory radio from a scrapper V70 with the code written on the side so I'd have a CD player. £15 vice £50 on eBay, some unfortunate sod took the entire black leather interior then left the radio! More fool them.
