They're was an older couple on the next door but one pitch to us with a what looked like brand new car pulling a tidy old 2 berth Monza from about 1980, private plate on the car HRH 2 made me smile!

Our ABI monza was a 1980 buy 4 berth. Towed it home and found it it was fucked. Valuable lesson learned that day!

All in all, could be a lot worse. I'm happy here now, got my solar to run everything during the day, inverter generator when the sun goes down, attached to a battery charger so I've got constant power.
The only drawback is, Hobby didn't put a 12v system in here at all, no battery compartment, 240 hook up only. Which means I have to have an inverter running all day from the solar to power the fridge on gas.
Very wasteful and inefficient.
Need to do a rewire really as the fridge will happily run from a 12v feed, just a bit awkward now I live in here.
I'm sure I'll work it out eventually.

Those Hobby vans really are posh. I'm amazed they don't have a 12v system though. I've always found a fridge or 12v cool box absolutely hammers the battert

Got no idea how old this bottle is our how much gas is left. It has better not run out anytime soon. Wierd 20mm clip on regulator required as well.

Not got an adaptor to fill this one either so it will be getting swapped for a normal propane bottle.

The empty weight of the bottle is stamped into that aluminium ring around the valve. It'll say something like 10 then a vertical line and 8. That's the weight in pounds (lbs) and ounces (oz). 2.205 lbs = 1 kg (16 oz = 1lb). Chuck it on a set of bathroom scales and you'll know how much is left (being a saddo, I do that every time I buy a new bottle and write the weight and date on the side.).

We are back from Wales. Really enjoy North Wales. Nowhere near as hectic as Cardiff and Swansea areas. Van now needs a bloody good wash as we got caught in a pretty good downpour on the a500. Must buy some wind deflectors to stop rain extinguishing my fag. Score on the computer was 31.4 overall mpg so that's around 33 to 34mpg in real terms. Not bad. Need to get car and van washed again ready to fuck off week after next.
