Peak torque at 1600 rpm? I thought the turbos would be barely spinning by then.

My van does nothing till about 1500 rpm. Literally no acceleration at all in 3rd. It really has the most shitty ratio'd box I've ever experienced.

No idea. I've never been.
A hour and a half each way for me.

I've never been. They must do bait. Ask Wobert, I think they've had a meet here before.

Looks pretty smart still. Has the usual VAG fobiles of this age. Cruise inop, drivers window inop, glove box flap hinge broken and rear wiper been snapped off after it siezed then attempted forced back.SiC wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 10:54 pm Think I might have just bought another car. Colleague is selling his 2006 A4 estate as he's just had a text to say his Tesla is ready for delivery. The Audi has just had its clutch+flywheel done. He's offered it at WBAC price and said somewhere between 1k and 1.5k.
Anyone want to buy a Fabia?
BRE engine code according to a data check. Less of a liability than the BLB engine but still not one of VAGs finest...
WBAC offered £1075, so I was generous and offered £1150. I think thats reasonable, even if it has the potential of going pop soon after buying it.

Re: What did you do today?
2.0TDi 143bhp PD unfortunately. I think its the one that had the Siemens injectors that liked to shit themselves and the dodgy oil pump balance shafts. 2.0TFSi would have been nicer to have (much quicker) but would have been worth a fair bit more though. He's had it 8yrs and its not caused him any real issues.
At least its not the slow 1.9TDi though and not the auto Multitronic rubbish. Not sure if its got a DPF. I think maybe no on this age - iirc it was 2006 when some got them.
I'm not a fan of PD. They may be pretty economical, but they are pretty shit refinement. But at this price I don't really care.

2005/6 will have the chain driven balance shaft set up and the shorter oil pump hex drive. Later ones had gear driven b/shafts and a longer hex drive but were still not very good. VAG 'engineering' at its best.
I've always got 2 or 3 B6/B7 A4 gloveboxes in. Broken hinges are common but there are cheap bodging kits on ebay.
