Re: What did you do today?
New owner of the Lexus has just driven off in it, headed back to the UK.
Nice bloke, really liked the car. Maybe he will keep it, maybe he will flip it for a nice profit, that's his choice to make.
He gave me a nice "finders fee", which was good of him, and that has gone to the local dog rescue centre.

Mostly been using the ZX this week, it's very relaxing to drive, beginning to question whether I should get rid of the Panda.

Good, I was hoping for an update, that looked like a bloody clean old motor. They can soak up the miles very well indeed.

Re: What did you do today?
Lexus owner rang me this morning from near Angoulem in France, saying he meant to stop somewhere in Spain last night, but just kept going (same as I have done many times).
Car been faultless.

Re: What did you do today?
Finally fitted the Toyo T/R tyres to the Octavia VRS.
It's made a massive difference, it always span up under hard acceleration before, now it grips like fuck and just goes.
The DSG now feels worth having, it just wouldn't pull properly on the Acceleras it came on.
Also replaced the boot struts on it so it no longer drops on my head.
In Hilux Surf news, also new boot struts as it hadn't been able to hold itself up for a while but they were harder to find for that. Took 6 months of looking. Seeing a bloke tomorrow about a replacement rear light cluster as it's always been broken but "fixed" with clear tape. May see about a new carpet and sort out the mess underneath. Diesel was spilled and it has not got any better, under both front seats is a disaster area. Keeps the rust away though I suppose.

Why so hard? I get them any length, any ends, any pressure from SGS Engineering.Arthur Foxhake wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 9:36 pm but they were harder to find for that. Took 6 months of looking.

Re: What did you do today?
I used SGS for tailgate struts on the Jensen. Very reasonably priced and built to whatever spec you require and adjustable as well
