- I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

Re: 1968 AMC Rebel
I have been looking at these for a while - but they always needed a return fuel line which was going to be a big job for my setup. This version doesn't need a return line. It looks as if it ought to be fairly simple to do - and hopefully it'll be easier to set up than any of the wanky carbs you can get for these (or the one they came with). Hopefully will have the by-product of not belching tons of unburnt fuel when the engine is cold and generally being greener. Might even save a bit of fuel.

Re: 1968 AMC Rebel
That looks a good solution. Presumably it will handle ethanol better, too....

Re: 1968 AMC Rebel
I can't see a lambda sensor there so how does it know how much fuel to chuck in there?

Re: 1968 AMC Rebel
Probably 'open-loop' so it's set up just like jetting a carb. One of my FI bikes is the same.

Re: 1968 AMC Rebel
If that's the case I think I'd be spending a bit more on kit with a standalone ECU. I'm pretty sure then you'd make the savings in fuel, especially with prices as they are? There used to be an Engine Masters show on Youtube with 2 of the blokes from Roadkill. I'm sure they covered the carb to EFI kits.

Re: 1968 AMC Rebel
It does have an O2 sensor - with a clever bracket you only need to drill a hole for.

Re: 1968 AMC Rebel
Took the bad water pump off the good engine so I can put the good one from the bad engine on there.
The impellers don't half look different - I've never had an issue with cooling and the heater's pretty effective, so hopefully it won't start to be an issue now.

Re: 1968 AMC Rebel
One looks like a budget version, does the one with the solid metal impeller have replaceable seals and bearings?
