Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
Focus Exhaust - How FUCKING Much??
Got a sheared mount on the front part of the Focus exhaust, it has a rubber mount to a crossmember (for want of a better word) bolted across the back of the transaxle. It is currently cable-tied back in waiting for my welder mate to have a go at it.
I got a quote from National Tyre (only because I was passing) which is up around £900 for a complete new system. The current exhaust doesn't look sound enough to be split for proper replacement of the forward part where the bracket lives (in any case, I guess the cat lives in there)
I'm a bit shocked TBH - this is the first catalyst system I've had to price up and I shan't be bothering with crap like this again - Mrs Rocker is under notice about her future Focus ownership. I've always run cars on a budget and I'm fucked if that includes £1000 for exhaust systems....
Anyone had a new system on a Mk2 Focus at a better price than that?

A custom stainless system will be cheaper than that.
I went to a place when my ls400 exhaust was leaking.
Two cats and a rather large, complicated Y section was only £400. I swapped the car before I had it done though.

Re: Stupid questions about motorised conveyances
Yeah, I'm going to see the local Powerflow geezer on Monday that did the Cowley system, he does exhaust repairs as well. I'm sure he can weld the bracket back up and quote me a much better buildup price than National....
Probably going to flog the thing anyway though and maybe the Chrysler and get something for us both to use.
