I do love a LandCrab! I had an Austin 2200 back in the day when I was a 'serious' biker. Every winter (after the first couple where you bin the bike on ice, get frostbite on vital bits and spend 4 months with a runny nose and shivering lie a bored housewife on the spin cycle) I'd buy an utter shed, usually from Scunthorpe auctions where the very best cars would barely reach £80 and abuse it for the winter and then drop it off at Eva's yard in exchange for £15!

The 2200 I bought from a private seller in one of the villages and it cost the full £80 with rent and ticket for the year! I used it to tow a trailer loaded (usually) with 3 bikes, riding kit and tools/fuel and it was thrashed constantly and even with the trailer could nearly see the 'ton'!

Of course, the engine knocked like a whores pissflaps in a gale and it used gallons of Tesco finest 20/50 but it was brilliant, could carry 6 people in comfort and never let e down.

It was a sad day when it went to see Joss at the yard, I almost shed a tear...

How C&C auctions work then? They come and take the photos, have a chat to get the details for the advert and do the rest for their final value fee? Or are there upfront fees?
They charge £100 plus vat for the bloke to come out and photograph the car, it is the same cost for one car or four like I did. He takes notes and basically asks the sort of questions a buyer would so he can write it up later. Once it is written up they send you the ad for approval and it gets a week of advertising before the auction goes live. If the reserve is met and the sale happens they take £500 plus vat minimum for sales up to 10k then it is 5 % or something like that. So far I haven't been billed at all as the photographer is paid by them apparently. If all goes to plan and I get a sale I will write up the process for anyone else who fancies having a go. You don't have to use their photographer or write up but his pictures are so much better than anything I can take.
