That's the type I use, they work well.

The ones that come in the nasty abs plastic cases that smell of carcegic chemicals and come from China covered in machine oil are absolutely shite.
I'll third that recommendation, I have one and it's been spot on.

I have only used it "on the car" once and it's been grand, but rather than create another joint I prefer to make entire sections off the car.

Not sure where to put this, so I'll leave it here.

It is worth considering a relay to lessen the draw on the unit - I've gone belt and braces with that plus LED rear bulbs. You don't want to be checking your brake lights every time you move the car.....

(By GOOD QUALITY, I mean the one Jag specialists sell. David Manners does them.)
Got a link to a decent one?

Best bet is have a chat directly with Morris Minor Birmingham (now known as David Manners) on 0121 544 4444. Their website is showing all sorts of discontinued part numbers/substitutes and I can't directly link the one I bought.

Pretty sure mine was original, or at least old enough to have been good quality but it gave up the ghost 15 years into my ownership.

Charcoal man won't have found much joy in the Forest today. It is absolutely fucking nuts everywhere. Took me an hour and a half to get home from the boot sale - 12.6 miles.....

I've been avoiding going far for the same reason. Thankfully the roads in and out of Weston are pretty modern, so dual carriageway and generally free flowing. Usually people turn up there early and then leave late afternoon, while congregating just around that area. So easily avoided. Tempting to go for a drive in the evening when the tourist hotspots have eased off and roads become mine again.

Charcoal man probably much prefer sitting stuck traffic in his old pickup than a modern van.

So long as he hasn't fitted a temp gauge to worry about!

Speaking of Weston, I've had appalling hold ups on the A371 into town - got to do it again next month.

Hopefully the engine will be fruity enough that I won't get bored! I would change for a traveller though but I'd probably chuck this lump in there too. Apparently they're more tail happy than the saloon, so even more fun!

Just catching up. Great purchase, at long last. Like that it’s still got its plate. Also looks like either a Morris commercial bonnet or at least bonnet badge.

That bonnet is a bit of a strange fit where it lines up with the bulkhead/door area.
