Yeah that's an option too, and if what's there is good why not?

Probably isn't. Also who knows when the conversion was done. Maybe when it was taken off the road for its restro?

It just has a standard moggie master cylinder which also looks original as the bolts were put in before the torsion bars which is factory as you just cut the old bolts off and put the new ones through the other way when replacing them.

You used to be able to go to a scrapyard, and pinch a remote servo from a Rover P5 for a fiver or so ..

I remember that, it was a while ago now, you had to watch out for stray sabre tooth tigers

That was just the scrap yard dog, you would be safer with a sabre tooth tiger.

Some folk still did/do it the "proper" way though, and remove the torsion bar. Belligerent engineering it may seem, but the whole point of the bolts being behind the torsion bar is that they don't drop out should the nuts unwind/fall off....

I did see a video of someone using a bar to move it out the way. Looking at that picture of the footwell, it looks to have a master cylinder in it. I believe you need to modify them for discs to allow fluid to return easier. No idea if this has been done. I'll probably quickly check over the lines and if they're all there, chuck some fluid in and see if I can get pressure.

If no lines, I'll be learning how to flair brake pipes next!

Buy a good quality flaring tool and you'll never have them made for you again. It's quite easy to do with the right kit
