Shit cars, mostly broken

- I scored very low on the autie test. I’m cheerful, happy, confident, like meeting new people, chatty and largely sociable. What the fuck am I doing on this forum?

Thankfully not, although I have noticed prices on the rise with many stockists (although thankfully the two Morrisons nearest to me are 57.7 and 59.9 respectively. Which is nice.DodgeRover wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 10:47 pm Any problems getting had in your area lately, supply has been shocking round here. Re: Shit cars, mostly broken
I am not under any illusion that driving an HGV is necessary a great job but my current job is such that I feel I need a parachute. Hopefully I will get a few years longer out of my job, it would be lovely if I could get the mortgage almost paid off and a few years more into the NHS pension scheme first but I know the day will come when I can’t tolerate any more. In that scenario HGV might only be a stopgap but it has to be better than working in a warehouse or on the till in Asda…Eddie Honda wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 1:39 amDON'T DO IT!jonathan_d wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 10:35 pm 4) I had the medical today to apply for my HGV provisional today, plan being to get through the tests so I have my HGV license for if/when current job becomes untenable.

Re: Shit cars, mostly broken
I made me a hand transfer pump after seeing those horrific electric things they used to sell on eBay. Double acting cylinder and a couple of one way valves, it worked OK but it was only adequate for filling a lawn mower from our house tank. I think travelling on one of these would be less effort than it took the one time I put 60 litres in the MGB.DodgeRover wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 10:47 pm Any problems getting had in your area lately, supply has been shocking round here. Can't take longer than filling the container sized generators they use on the show grounds from 45 gallon drums using a hand pump.

This thread reminds me. I've got a good 2005 9-5 rad to fit an petrol auto turbot in the garage I really should get rid of. Any use to you?

Your call, I can move it if you want. It is reading as more of a car thread so far to me.jonathan_d wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 10:35 pm 1) I’m an idiot and this is in the wrong section. I'd press the reset button and clear the whole lot of 'em out, then get a couple of reliable cars without lpg.
As for your HGV, I've always said that truck driving will never make you rich, but will always give you a living. I'd look for supermarket delivery work, not the dotcom stuff, but the bulk deliveries.

I don't understand why, you'd think the pressure difference would do it for you until it equalised.DodgeRover wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 9:56 am Can't take longer than filling the container sized generators they use on the show grounds from 45 gallon drums using a hand pump.

Please do move the thread, it is likely to remain mostly car related. In terms of the radiator unfortunately I have already bought and fitted a new one.Hooli wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 9:20 amYour call, I can move it if you want.
