What did you do today?

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Probably. Cleons don't like sitting idle and OMGHGF tends to happen when brought back into service.

Went to Haynes Breakfast meet this morning. This time they went back to classics and future classics in one event. I was a bit sceptical but thankfully the Fiesta ST crowd didn't descend on it. Possibly because there is a fiver entrance charge puts many off. I didn't even see a Golf R!

I'll upload all the photos to my MGB thread later (finally got a chance to take it down there) but for now, I'll put the star of the meet up here. This delightfully shabby Jag XK.

The Springtime start-up and check over. Started on the button with no electrical help (that’s a fucking miracle!). Got up to temperature and stayed there, lots of amps flowing, no leaks, no odd noises. Pretty much perfect. The bodywork blebs are not getting any worse. Stopped and hot started perfectly. Brakes work, gearbox perfect, even the tyres had the pressure they were last checked with.

I am exhausted after scrolling through all the messenger messages and photos. This is how Nick Mason must feel when he gets updates from the people that do all the work on his motors...

I know full well that if I repatriated this car, and I started to look after it, it will fall apart like a clown car the moment I reach for the keys.

Just lovely & it has the best lights. Fishtanks look awful on these. Are those the OE fit P6000 tyres too? the pattern looks familiar.

I fitted a pair of front arb bushes to the CR-V today. I haven't taken it out for a run, I'll do that tomorrow morning when I go to work. I can't help feeling it wont make difference. I still think it's the lower front balljoint, a job I can't do. I don't have the tools and don't intend buying them for one job. If it is the balljoint, I'll put it in the local garage, probably cheaper in the long run.
On the plus side, Mrs Tetley bought me an impact wrench for Christmas. I've only just started using it. What an excellent tool. Cuts the job time in half I reckon.

Swapped my toys about. Clio needs an MOT this month, so taxed. Gone up to £330 a year ffs.

I know all my cars are only cheap vehicles and the combined value of all is less than a brand new base spec Golf/1-series/Focus/etc, but I do right now feel very lucky to own and run several cars that I really like.
