I'll stop bidding then 🤣

Admittedly if it did go for under a grand (it won't) then it would be a cheap bit of porridge to play with.

Clint iirc. Think he had it up for £1500 or something and not a huge amount of interest. Bit of a car that probably is under the radar for most.

What an abysmal advert! Plenty of room under that bonnet for a blower or turbo though.

The Wolseley is the shit one, Riley has bigger, ie adequate, front brakes, a bit more “poke” from it’s twin carb engine, a tachometer and much higher gearing (20 mph per Thousand rpm). Very Hyacinth Bucket, the Wolseley 1500, and just as joyless.
But easy to convert to MGB mechanicals and make reasonably drivable.

How much is rust going for on weighbridge nowadays?

Not sure this can be fixed but you can try. £150 as it is.

This trader seems to be struggling to sell this Moggie. He originally had it up for £9750 buy-it-now. Didn't sell, so auction at £6k start. Didn't sell.

Now it's been steadily reducing to £4900 as it is now. Still no bids and not a huge amount of watchers either.

If you're asking top money, you'd think they'd at least clean out or replace the dash pocket linings.

I have noticed there are a lot of travellers for sale at £5k mark and above, yet they sit around for ages. Both of these have reserve and little interest. Says to me that this is the top end of the Moggie Traveller market. There are ones £10k+ but they sit even longer and all traders. I guess a good example of PhilA condition Vs value chart, with those supposedly concourse.

Unfortunately people fall in love with their cars, look at what others are up for sale for and then have an inflated view of what it's worth. When something is popular (i.e. Minis) that gets reinforced when people end up paying those inflated prices as there isn't much choice, especially when you really want one. However I suspect while the Moggies are popular, they aren't as much as Minis neither with the younger and more impatient crowd.

This one has been on few a bit too. I guess the rotten looking wood work on the back puts people off. Also the "moody" stylised pictures aren't exactly helping show what you are potentially buying.

Finally a project that looks reasonably viable. I mean its still sitting on all four wheels. That's pretty good at this price point.

Some of this stuff would have been snapped up pretty quickly a few weeks/months ago. Noticed it on some Minis too that would have been selling at the prices asked but still not sold. Sign that things are cooling off now we are slowly getting to summer? Probably too early to tell and may change if we start getting stonking hot days again.

Another case in point of over inflated asking prices. This has just been reduced by £600 this weekend after only coming on late last week.
SiC wrote: Fri May 14, 2021 7:20 pm Not a bad price potentially. The W-word is a tad off putting though and it's only done tens of miles since it's last MOT in 2016. In Nibblets neck of the woods.

I have a distorted view of Travellers, most people remember them as runaround for old folk and then general dilapidation into bangers and cheap van substitutes , befor elevation to classic status.

In 1975, an old school friend of my Dad’s came to our house in the arse end of nowhere mid -Wales to do some shooting on our ( boggy, rocky, scruffy wooded ) land. He arrived with a beautiful blonde and her Father’s immaculate J reg Traveller, on Wolfrace slotmags. In the back was a built in gun case and picnic hamper.
To an 11 year old used to a S1 Land Rover and my Mum’s rotten B reg 1100( In which one of us often had to lie in the boot and hit the petrol pump) . This was like someone turning up in a Bentayga to a kid today.

I still think of them as posh cars , to this day.
