Well, that didn't go to plan. While I was fitting the new nearside wishbone, the driveshaft popped out. I didn't even realise until I came to fit the new wishbone. I was wondering why it wouldn't line up. Then what had happened dawned on me. That's where my knowledge ended. Got to get someone in now to fix it. Hate the fucking thing now. Should have been an easy job. Bastard.

Many moons ago I had a mk4 1.4L Escort that was haemorrhaging oil, my dad took off in it one day and came back with a little Subaru Justy which I was not particularly impressed with.
He wasn’t working at the time and we shared it for a couple of years until I bought my first Scirocco and somewhere along the way I fell in love with its simplicity and unburstable nature. I was paying for it and he was looking after the servicing, or so he told me. I think he had it serviced once in the 5 or six years we had it.

Out of all the cars I’d consider ‘his’ it’s the one that I really wish I’d been able to hang on to.

2wd version of this, I have no digital pics of it. Might not have any pics of it at all actually as we didn’t do that much.

Don't they just* line up and push in with a wiggle to get the splines engaged?

Thanks Hooli, but I've got absolutely no idea. Driveshafts are the Devil's work to me.

As I said, if it's come out the gearbox then just push it back in. It might need a wiggle for the splines to align but that's all.
