Jag! The Ghostly fleet thread

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Then it turns out the clutch is on its last legs, the thing's actually rotten as a carrot etc etc.

Really, that needs to be 50-100 quid. It will owe you far too much once dragged back up there - that's another £250 to recover it.

I did a pre booked MOT on the Mercedes 508d I drove home from Totnes to Chesham.
It was only insured for 2 days so didn't show up on the MID at any point.
It hadn't moved for 4 years, was green with mold, covered in graffiti and rust and was, without any shadow of a doubt, the most tuggable vehicle, on any road in the U.K, that day.
Made it home with no issues, saw not one police car and only one DVSA car that had no issue.

TL/DR.
Get on with it.

There's no clutch as it's auto, and it's a Mazda 323, not a 3 series.

I know, and I'l told myself no more Jap tat, but it's so cheap* I'd make an excuse. I'm sure there'll be something better though - I think the whole thing is looking a bit too convoluted on reflection.

Ghosty, you are developing a bad habit of buying cars from London and its surroundings. Look closer to home. The era of cars you're interested in aren't in short supply.

Yeah, some common sense is required I think. The distance doesn't faze me though. If the 323 was running MOTD etc...

Can you insure this? It's local, MOT'd until next May and it's cheap. Ideal WBOD:
