Stick the Disco in low box, surely that's slow enough for parking a pikey wagon?

Does it not have a low box?

Yes it does, and I use that but I still spend a lot of time slipping the clutch - if I let the clutch out on a low/no throttle the car kangaroos - it's always done it. I am starting to believe the driver at the Land Rover Experience who said the autos are a better all round choice.

My D1 did that in reverse if there was any load on it. Turned out to be a failing gearbox bearing on the input shaft, never made any noise though.

I dare say my Disco is faulty in some way - I can say with a degree of certainty that a second hand motor mover is cheaper than most of the repair jobs I'd face on the Disco.

That's weird, it's probably something and nothing that would require a months solid diagnostics to find... Does flicking the air con on (which normally increases the idle slightly) stop it surging?

It's not a major kangaroo - more of a surging, but it always does it - my ALDI A3 was the same, in first gear and at low/tickover revs there was always some jerking - in the days of throttle cables you'd have said a slack cable.

Aircon makes no odds - it's climate and it's usually on auto but the electronics keeps the idle constant - I think those higher idle speeds were before we had ECUs to manage the fuelling rather than just the idle speed.

Slow progress being made. Just need to adjust it and tighten all the bolts then do the wiring.

I thought the smaller tube was for extra stability but it turns the cam to engage the rollers onto the tyres - so you only have to wind them on from one side.

Do people think it will be ok to route the cables through the hole with the gas pipe (To the left on this pic)? I have some plastic ribbed trunking to keep the cables together.
