Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Well that’s it, motor mover fitted and working. I should probably write myself a checklist so I don’t forget to do all the caravan stuff in the right order.

One of the best bits of advice an old 'vanner gave me (and I often see repeated on Youtube videos etc) is to not let anybody talk to you during hitch-up or set-up.

I still didn't heed it though and got in once without realising the back legs weren't down. Quite startling seeing the whole thing rear up and mountains of shit falling down in cupboards....

I bloody love this idea from Knaus - a caravan with a tailgate.

At £30k+ I won't be getting one but all the same - nice bit of design -

I saw a little hyundai today with one of those tent things on the roof rack. It was a big white flat white bit of plastic that must pop up with fabric sides. I thought the maximum weight you could put on roofbars was only 50kg or so?

It varies but it's only 75kg for a Disco 3. Those limits are supposed to be for on road use though. They don't quote a stationary limit but I reckon a fat bastard like me could sleep in one of those roof tents for my Discovery without breaking or bending anything, despite being 100KG or so.

I can't see it being too much of an issue TBH, van roof racks get massively overloaded and I've never seen a damaged roof from it (yet).
They probably say the weight limit as it will shift the centre of gravity significantly upwards

Exactly - 100Kg of dozing fatso (me) isn't going to be a serious issue if the car's not moving.

Been looking around for led lights for a while - managed to find a labcraft replacement that fits in the original location as it’s the same dimensions as the Labcraft ones fitted. I ordered only one for now as they are expensive and I didn’t know for certain it would fit. Getting the old one off was a struggle- fuck knows how they expected anyone to change a tube - but now in place and exact swap.

You need to put some strain relief round those chocolate blocks if you are going to leave it hanging like that.
