I had a Boots branded walkman tape player that was that color.

For some reason, I have a B series in my Cowley that colour too...When I bought it, unseen, over the phone the fella asked if I would like it painted. He never mentioned it was Pinto Blue.

This is an original air cleaner box.

This is a repainted with paint sold as the correct one one.

65 is different from 61-64, which were painted prairie gold interior paint.

Apart from the rocker covers and air cleaner box, the '65 engines were painted black. Only from 1966 onwards engines were painted FoMoCo blue, which makes the '65s one year only.

It is now pretty much back up and running but one of the new fuel hoses is breaking up inside and block the front float on the carb again. It pisses me right off as the hose has only been on for 6 months and around 100 miles and this is the second piece of rubber I have found in the float valves.

I have had to take it back home again as a Navara with a seized engine was towed in over the weekend and needs the workshop space. I will try and get some miles on it now if it ever stops raining.

Been a bit of a slog with this for you at times.....Are those hoses model-specific from the US or just generic UK stock? Concerns me how much shit rubber goods are around at the mo.

The hose I had the problem with came with a fuel pressure valve that was a chinese piece of crap. It is a nightmare finding stuff that is actually of decent quality. Paying more doesn't mean you actually get quality just that the seller is making more money flogging shit from China

That is the most annoying thing - it all seems to be crap regardless of cost.

There's been some discussion about this on one of the VW camper forums I'm a member of.

The gist seems to be that Codan or Gates Barricade is recommended but also " I went to a company called, Advanced Fluid Solutions, you get what you pay for and this hose has been on my bus for 4 and a half years now, and showing no signs of any problems". Other people have also recommended AFS.

I particularly had my T25 in mind when I made my "crap" comment. Cheers for that link.....

Can't recall if I read it here or elsewhere, but some folk have been using marine grade pipe, which is allegedly better.
