Filled at Woodall services as it was 77p a litre I'm not convinced it was actually full though, first long journey for a long time when we haven't been towing and if it was full then it seems to have managed nearly 30mpg. Was expecting around 24.

Well as you may have gathered this rather blotted it's copy book by the fuel pump failing after only 3 days holiday and towing the caravan 50 miles :(
Bought guaranteed used fuel pump and paid for next day delivery, it was fucked.
After much buggering about we get recovered to my parents as that's the only place we can think of with space for the caravan.
Order new pump from Rock auto with estimated delivery of 6pm Monday 22nd, AA provide evil courtesy car and I deliver seriously pissed off rest of the family back home then turn round and drive 200 miles back to my parents to drop the hire car back off and wait for the fuel pump.
In the meantime my parents Jeep is off the road waiting for a part before the MOT leaving me with a mountain bike to do the shopping on!
Thank heavens the fuel pump arrives early on the Friday and the car starts instantly.
In the meantime we tackle the rusty wheel arch that got an advisory last year. Old outer arch removed and a new bit welded in. Needed a bit of filler as it distorted slightly when the lip was gas welded on before fitting.

While waiting for the pump I also took the inlet manifold off and I think I've finally sealed all the leaks! Just done 210 miles none stop and it's not thrown the EML on for running lean and it appears to be running better than ever.

Also tried to fit a new track rod end from ECP - obviously it was wrong.

Only problem is that I was spoiled by the towing ability of the 4.7l Jeep and I've lost a bit of faith in this now
