That screen rot is an easy enough fix, I would think it easier to fabricate than cut and weld out of another though but everyone's style of bodgery is different!

I did the screen surround on one corner on my Panhard and it was a bastard. Even with a shit load of filler it still looks shit. If I had been able to get a replacement surround it would of been a lot easier and neater repair. Admittedly mine was all double curves and shit that made it even more awkward.

Look forward to seeing the rear screen panel repair, at first glance it looks straight forward enough but I can imagine the complexity of panel affairs multiplying once the full horror is revealed, a cut from another car would be my preferred option.

I had a mk1 1.6s many years ago.

It was a great car apart from the automatic choke so we replaced it with a Weber 28/36.
Compared to the competition the build quality was light years ahead as well.

Fancy finding an Ascona in a scrapyard, you seem to have plenty of good breakers up there!

Well, I found photos of an Ascona and Chevette from a scrapyard I visited a few years ago, I'm hoping I can find some usable parts from them, that rear bumper from the Chevette would be handy

Wow Scotland must be a hotbed of scrap car enthusiasts, swapping spoils with each other!

Seems to be far more stuff up there

Would the interior be worth grabbing too? Door cards look ok and it's interior trim that can be hard to find.
