Dan's Crapi project.

Talk about your cars etc here. Keep it sort of sensible and on topic please.

Not a huge amount has been done since last time. Lots of little stupid things like fannying around with the bonnet catch, cleaning up the door latches (one wasnt working properly), stuff like that really and painting little fixings etc. Then it became winter and progress has almost stopped since!
I will try to get going again ASAP though now Xmas etc is over. Just need dry weather! I found a pair of new old stock Trico front wiper arms on the Bay this morning so bought them to replace my scabby old ones. And bagged another early mk2 style fuel tank sender/pick-up. It’s used but working apparently and given the rarity of them I decided it won’t hurt to have a spare!
I might try to get something done this weekend, weather permitting. Still need to get underneath and get the exhaust finished.

No news on the Transit, it’s on SORN and off the road now. I might sell it yet...

Mercury is behaving itself impeccably! It’s not been used much over the last year due to China-virus lockdowns but it got a few good runs. The last time it went out was October I think. Only thing it needs is a new alternator belt as it’s stretched and squealing it’s tits off. I’m running out of adjustment for it now!
It’s had a really good wash and full polish up before winter lay up too. Roll on spring!

Superb - genuinely can't wait to 'see' it virtually or literally on the road.

After mch persuasion I've managed to convince my mate to dig this out from the side of his parents house where it's been since 1992.

Sweet! How bad is it after that long? That’s a long time sitting out for a rust prone car!

Not too bad - needs a scuttle panel and a tailgate at least. rest is repairable or looks that way.
