Signal red was the Triumph colour, that period of Midget/MGB would have been Tartan Red and the blue I guess is closest to Mineral Blue but the brochure colour printing back then was an amalgam of processes - some photographic and some litho-based so hard to judge an exact shade...

£2000 is doable if you do the donkey prep work such as bare metalling the rest of it.

Always get them to do the final prep.

Tartan red is gr8 4 resale and it's a lovely colour.

You'll get your 2 grand back and then some.

Just done a quick add up and parts so far have come to £1039.91. I (over) paid £2500 + £350 delivery for the car.
So it currently owes me £3.9k all-in.

For that money I could have bought a decent running and driving British Leyland example. But probably not an earlier big bumper though. Add £2k of paint I'd be at pretty much £6k and what one is realistically worth for a not too hassle sale - factoring if the market takes a slight hit. So should be able to get my money back or only make a small loss.

I definitely want to use this once done but I've really fallen head over heal(eys) for a Frogeye Sprite after that rental I had. Naturally even if my budget could stretch to immaculate £20k+ example, there is zero chance of me spending that much on one. So that'll be one as another project.

E.g. like this example that "sold" for £5k and now relisted today for £4.5k.

Or this one that's not far from me that been on for a few months now but would be less work. Even if it's the same Iris Blue that my Midget is.

Of course both I wouldn't pay what they're asking for...

Once I've finished this Bodgit Spridget and the Nevermite then perhaps it's the next thing to do. My suspicion once those two are done, my BGT (that I've owned for 5yrs) will feel redundant and will be off. This keeping me spurred on to finish a Frogeye and the BGT funding the rather high cost of panels for the Frogeye.

Basically my mind is yet again selling it before I've even finished it.

Looks it but I bet it's not as normal with these things. There must be something wrong with it given it's been up for ages. I can't tell but I think the bonnet could be fibreglass on it though.

I'd rather not have a fibreglass bonnet considering that is the major defining points of getting a Frogeye. Looking at about £4300 for a new replacement steel bonnet. Probably more flaws than the original too.
